Welcome to Friendship Cup 2024

It`s that time of the year again - Friendship Cup time. Following last year`s staggering performance by V`s over the D`s this year the self oppointed committee has decided that we need to get down to business for once and for all and sort out the strenghts of our School. This year it will be between the Estate Residents and the Outsiders.

The 2x captains for the tour this year :
Steve Morris - Insiders
Mark Wentzel - Outsiders

The tour will stay at Matori Lodge - Modimolle. Lodge is 200m from Club House
Accommodation is arranged from Thursday - Sunday

The tournament will take place on Friday 11th & Saturday 12th October 2024 and will consist of 3 games. Beterball Stableford Match Play Friday Afternoon and for the 1st time a Double game on Saturday (Combined stableford Match Play & Singles Match Play ). A total of 12 points is up for grabs , with 1 point for a match won and 1/2 for a halved match. First team reaching 6 and 1/2 points will take the honors.

The Friendship Cup has been around for a number of years and the spirit in which the games are played is indicative of the name itself.

Rules & Conditions

Game 1:
Better ball (Teams of 2) match play. Lowest Handicap in 4 ball goes to 0. Best net score of the team A plays best net score of team B. - Note 85% handicap allowance to be used

Game 2 :
Combined (Teams of 2) Stableford Match Play. Lowest handicap in 4 ball goes to 0. Combined stableford score of team A plays combined stableford score of team B. Note 95% handicap allowance to be used

Game 3 :
Singles (Teams of 1) match play. Played with the same handicap as in Game 2.Player A net score plays Player B net score in a match play format. Note Game 2 & 3 are being played simultaneously

1 point for a winning team and 1/2 a point for a matched halved.

Rain delays / Match results
For a match to have a result 9 holes needs to be completed. Whatever the match status is at that stage(e.g. 2up after 12holes) would be the match result.

For a Game to have an outcome ,more than 50% of all matches should have a result.
e.g. 3/5 matches needs to have a result for that game to count.
