Friendship Cup 2022 Parys

It`s that time of the year again - Friendship Cup time. Following last year`s staggering performance by the hand picked Bushies the committee thought it well to split the talent this year into the oldies vs the newbies , hoping that this will result into a more balanced tournament.

The 2x captains for the tour this year :
Mornè Oosthuizen - Oldies
Kevin Heunis - Newbies

The tour will stay at The Container House - Parys. Please see directions below.
Accommodation is arranged from Thursday - Sunday

The tournament will take place on Friday 11 & Saturday 12th November 2022 and consist of 3 games. Combined Stableford Match Play Friday Morning & and a Better ball Match Play the afternoon with Singles Match Play on Saturday morning. A total of 20 points it up for grabs , with 1 point for a match won and 1/2 for a halved match. First team reaching 10 and 1/2 points will take the honors.

The Friendship Cup has been around for a number of years and the spirit in which the games are played is indicative of the name itself.

Rules & Conditions

White Tee’s in play only ! Please check your handicap.

Game 1:
Combined (Teams of 2) Stableford Match Play. Lowest handicap in 4 ball goes to 0. Combined stableford score of team A plays combined stableford score of team B. Note 100% handicap allowance to be used

Game 2 :
Better ball (Teams of 2) match play. Lowest Handicap in 4 ball goes to 0. Best net score of the team A plays best net score of team B. - Note 90% handicap allowance to be used


Game 3 :
Singles (Teams of 1) match play. Lowest handicap goes to 0. Player A net score plays Player B net score in a match play format. Note 100% handicap allowance to be used.

1 point for a winning team and 1/2 a point for a matched halved.

Rain delays / Match results
For a match to have a result 9 holes needs to be completed. Whatever the match status is at that stage(e.g. 2up after 12holes) would be the match result.

For a Game to have an outcome ,more than 50% of all matches should have a result.
e.g. 3/5 matches needs to have a result for that game to count.
